Maria Chou, founder and president of Bay Area School of Etiquette, is passionate
about teaching children. She has been working with children for over ten years. Maria
was a teacher before graduating with a Masters in Child Development from the University
of Pittsburgh. Maria had the opportunity to work with the late Mister Rogers on Mister
Roger's Neighborhood. After the birth of her children, Maria was a stay-at-home Mom,
involved in projects at school and community. She kept busy with all kinds of important
and detail-oriented jobs such as fundraiser, community volunteer, AWANA speaker,
room parent, gymnastic mom, as well as full-time mother, wife and homemaker. Maria
is happily married to her beloved husband for more than a decade and they have two
delightful children. Maria is an instructor with the Los Gatos-Saratoga Community
Education and Recreation. Maria also conducts Seminars with the Lyceum Gifted Children
Association in Santa Clara. Maria curently receives mentorship from Sue Fox, author
of Etiquette For Dummies and Business Etiquette For Dummies. Maria trained as an
etiquette consultant at the prestigious American School of Protocol that has been
featured on FOX, ABC, CBS, CNN and the BBC.
